Meet Darshawn Phillip Romine, the Founder Behind ROMINITII'S

Every bag of coffee and every tin of tea on this site was chosen by one person. Not a committee, not a buying algorithm. I'm Darshawn Phillip Romine, and I built ROMINITII'S the way I'd want to be sold to: honestly, with good product and no pretense. Here's who I am, why this exists, and why I think it's worth your trust.

Who I am

I'm the founder of ROMINITII'S, and I'm the one who tastes, selects, and stands behind everything on this shelf. When you order here, you're not buying from a faceless warehouse. You're buying from me.

I started this because good coffee had become two bad options. It was either expensive and intimidating, wrapped in language that made ordinary drinkers feel unwelcome, or it was cheap and forgettable. There was almost nothing built for the person who simply wants an excellent cup at home every morning, without a lecture attached.

Why the brand exists

ROMINITII'S is the in-between I wanted and couldn't find: a carefully chosen shelf of coffees and teas, described in plain language, with real guides that teach you how to brew them properly. Premium, without the pretense.

The name carries the idea. This is the Kingdom, and everything about it, the dark warm palette, the gold, the sense of ceremony around a simple cup, comes from one belief: an everyday ritual deserves to feel like something. You don't need an occasion to drink well. The first cup of the day is occasion enough.

What I do for my community

A coffee brand sits at the center of how people gather, and I take that seriously. My aim with ROMINITII'S is to be part of the table, not just a box on the porch:

  • Showing up locally at tastings, pop-ups, and markets, where people can try before they commit and learn a brew method with someone guiding their hands.
  • Supporting causes that matter here at home, lending the brand's voice and resources to awareness efforts and community fundraisers.
  • Backing other small businesses, partnering with cafes, bakeries, wellness studios, and independent shops that want quality coffee and tea behind their counter.
  • Teaching for free, because knowledge shouldn't be gatekept. Every guide on this site is free and useful whether or not you ever buy from me.

Why you can trust me

Credibility isn't a claim, it's a set of habits. Mine look like this:

  • I tell you what's in the bag. Origin, roast level, and honest tasting notes, in plain words rather than marketing fog.
  • I'd rather you buy small first. Sample packs exist because I'm confident about what happens after you taste it.
  • I answer. Questions, problems, and complaints reach me, and I make it right. No ticket queue, no runaround.
  • I teach instead of upselling. The guides are detailed, free, and written to make your cup better even if it isn't my coffee in it.

The standards behind the coffee

Quality isn't a vibe, it's sourcing. These are the marks I look for when deciding what earns a place on the shelf:

  • Fair Trade. Certified coffee means farmers receive a guaranteed minimum price plus a community premium invested in local schools, clinics, and infrastructure. It's a floor under the people who actually grow this.
  • USDA Organic. Grown and processed without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, verified through a certified supply chain. Better for the soil, better for the farmworkers, and it shows up in a cleaner cup.
  • Swiss Water Process decaf. Decaffeination done with nothing but water, temperature, and time. No chemical solvents, 99.9% caffeine-free, and it keeps the origin flavor intact. It's why our decaf tastes like coffee instead of an apology.
  • World Coffee Research. A nonprofit developing the agricultural science and climate-resilient varieties that keep coffee farming viable for the next generation. Supporting that work is how the coffee we love still exists in thirty years.

Why the coffee itself is worth choosing again

  • Range with a reason. Single origins from Ethiopia, Colombia, Guatemala, Kenya, Sumatra, Peru, Costa Rica, Brazil, and beyond, across light, medium, and dark, so you can find the cup that's actually yours.
  • A low-risk way to find it. Sample packs let you taste four or six coffees for less than one wasted bag costs.
  • Formats for real life. Whole bean and ground for the ritual, pods for the rushed weekday, instant for travel, cold brew grind for summer. Same standard, different clock.
  • Function that still tastes good. Mushroom blends in medium, dark, decaf, and instant, built to taste like coffee first and never like a supplement.
  • Tea held to the same bar. Matcha, hojicha, Earl Grey, jasmine, Moroccan mint, masala chai, and caffeine-free fruit blends, never treated as an afterthought.
  • The knowledge to brew it right. A great bean brewed badly is a wasted bean, so I publish the exact ratios, temperatures, and timings for every method.

Small on purpose

ROMINITII'S is independent, and it stays close to the ground deliberately. That kind of service doesn't scale easily, which is exactly why it's worth protecting.

What's next

More origins worth drinking, more guides worth reading, and more ways to bring people together over a good cup, from tastings and gifting to partnerships with small businesses who care about what they pour.

Thanks for being here. Pour something good.
